Doldrums

I found her
In the middle of life
Stuck between what is and what is not
Between what ifs and why not?
Between the past and the future
Orbiting cluelessly through time
Tossing questions in a rhetorical world
Hoping to uncover a cure
To an unending gloominess!

I found her
Down the river made with her own tears
Bound by the fine line between giving up and hanging in
Stuck between a breakthrough and a breakage
Detained by her past oversight
Like an old rabbit who’s found refuge in a shabby hut
Dodging from a galled thunderstorm
Digging for an escape into the earth
Seeking to be liberated from life’s ruggedness!
Lord save us from the doldrums I prayed.
